Mireille and Peter were married in the very posh Farm Street Church in London and had their reception
at Les Ambassadeurs which doesn't let just everybody in. Their invitations were printed in gold!

It does not often happen that a marriage is followed by an appearance before a stern judge in a court of law but it did happen to Peter Noone, famous as the Herman of Herman's Hermits. It seems that Peter had committed an indiscretion earlier in the year.
The trouble centered around a law which Americans may not understand but which the British government enforces rigidly: No one may take more than a certain amount of money out of England. The extreme measure is the result of England's teeter-tottering economy. It is tough on Englishmen going away.
Peter, who likes to live it up abroad was caught carrying something like $400 when he was arrested. The trial was set for later in the year. In the meantime, Peter married Mireille Strasser. Imagine the sad honeymoon wondering if the groom were going to spend the first days of the marriage in jail. Fortunately he was only fined.
