JUST AFTER HERMAN AND THE HERMITS ARRIVED IN TOWN THE KFWB HITLINE PHOTOGRAPHER SNAPPED THIS PIC.

Large Crowd Storms M-G-M Studio Gates As Hermits Start Film

Over 3,000 cheering, arm waving Southern California pop music fans, many singing, "I'm Henry The Eighth I Am," met Great Britain's latest music sensations - Herman's Hermits - as the group arrived at MGM Studio's in Culver City Monday led by KFWB Personalities Wink Martindale and Gene Weed!
The Hermits, under the sponsorship of KFWB, are making their first West Coast singing appearance, Saturday, August 7th at Pasadena's big Rose Bowl where all reserved seat tickets have been put on sale for the unheard of low price of only $1.00!
The Manchester England group arrived in Los Angeles early to film their roles in MGM's "Where The Girls Meet The Boys", starring Harve Presnell
and Connie Francis, a movie scheduled for release later this year.
Herman's Hermit fans were tipped off on where they might get a "sneak" preview of KFWB's Big Rose Bowl Concert stars by Wink Martindale and Gene Weed who invited their listeners to meet the Hermits at MGM Monday morning.
"I've never seen anything like it," exclaimed Weed after the ordeal, "Wink and I thought we'd be crushed by the fans."
Some of the lucky 3,000 who arrived at MGM Monday brought gifts to their favorite stars.
In response to Wink Martindale's question to the fans on how many were planning to attend the August 7th Rose Bowl concert, the affirmative reply was so loud that we feel we'd better warn you to pick up your tickets NOW before it's too late. Tickets are available at any Mutual Ticket Agency, Southern California Music Company, all Wallichs Music City Stores or by check or money order, together with self-addressed and stamped envelope to HERMITS CONCERT, KFWB, Hollywood.
