Careful! Herm has something to say about a special girl!!!!


"HERMAN ... married!?!" "Why, that's ridiculous! He's just a little boy!" "Anyway, he hasn't been going with anyone long enough or seriously enough to decide on such a big step!"
    These are only a few of the comments you might hear if the news were released that Herman had surprised us all and gotten married!
    "I'm no different from anyone else," said Herm. "I'm not a little boy any longer. I want to find love, too! And don't think for a minute that I haven't been looking around!"
    The way Herm sees it, he's not quite ready for marriage just yet. But he would like to find a girl he could love - a girl he could think of in terms of marrying at some later date! And in anybody's book, that's news!
    But what kind of girl would she have to be?
    "Well, number one, I love blondes," smiled Herm. "Now that doesn't mean she has to be blonde - but it would be sort-of nice if she were!"
    Herm was quiet for a minute as if he were deep in thought. Then he continued.     "I also like people with vivid imaginations," he confided. "And that includes girls. You see, I think if a girl has an imagination she uses all the time, we'd never get bored with each other. We'd always have lots of fun and lots of things to do and talk about!"
  Then Herm told us that he'd also like "his girl" to have a good sense of humor! And we can certainly understand this. Why, Herm himself is so funny and witty, he'd need a girl who'd appreciate his humor, as well as contribute some of her own!
    "I'm beginning to sound like all I care about are 'clownish' things," Herm said seriously. "But that's not true at all! I want the girl I love to be very understanding!"

       What Herm means by that is that he doesn't care if the girl is all that intelligent - or if she reads a whole lot and knows a lot - as long as she's interested in what's going on around her! But mainly Herm would like to find somebody he could turn to when he has a problem - someone who would let him "cry on her shoulder," so to speak - just as he would let her cry on his!
    "The girl I love will know when I'm feeling low," Herm told us gently, "even without me really having to tell her! We'll really be able to 'get through' to one another!"
    We know how seriously Herm's been looking around for that kind of girl. And we know that each of The Hermits wants to find the "one girl" he'll care for in a special way. So we asked Herm if he thought it would affect his group any if one of the guys went steady - or even got married.
   "No, I don't think so," Herm assured us. "Even though things would be a bit different. That guy wouldn't be able - or even want - to do some of the things the others did. But we'd still have fun!"
    Herm also told us that all the members of Herman's Hermits are best friends. And that nothing would ever hurt this friendship.
    "We joke around a great deal," confided Herm. "But deep-down, we all love each other like brothers."
    We smiled happily when we heard this - even though we already suspected it.
    "Anyway," Herm continued, "knowing all of us and the way we feel about things, I doubt if there's one chap in the group who would ever pick a girl who'd want to separate him from his friends."
    We don't think so either, Herm! And maybe that's why you and your friends are the favorites of many teens! - and us!
